Developing a Cadbury-Schwepps Newsletter
This is a good example of the "concept to finished" process. The idea was to develop a newsletter for the children of Cadbury-Schwepps employees. The focus was to come up with something that would appeal to a late elementary and middle school group. We wanted an accessible feeling that was fun, loose and entertaining. The intention was to involve Cadbury-Schwepp children on an educational, health-promoting level. We spent the time needed to develop the types of cartoon children to use, clothing, articles, puzzles, contests, cartoons and such. The illustrations had to match an established corporate style. The result was an engaging publication that was very well received and highly successful. The kids loved it!
It requires focus, feeling, intention, time and engagement.
The dialogue between client and designer, and the combined decisions directly affect the outcome of any project and how it is perveived by the target audience.
While trends are important considerations in design, different demographic groups respond differently to trends and that should be reflected in any project.
